The Humanities Specialist is responsible for curriculum development and small-group instruction related to Reading, Writing and Critical Thinking & World Studies. Red Bridge does not group students by grade level, but by Autonomy Level. Students attend small group lessons in academic areas based on ability rather than grade level. The Humanities Specialist will meet with students who are at similar levels of ability or interest in reading and writing. Critical Thinking & World Studies happens in Autonomy Level cohorts. In the 2023 – 2024 school year, this position will work with 5- to 10-year-olds of varying abilities. The Humanities Specialist will work with up to sixteen students at a time. In addition to small-group instruction, responsibilities include student supervision, parent communication, library maintenance, student assessment and feedback, one-on-one student support and intervention planning as needed. The Humanities Specialist will be responsible for creating new resources and routines, and revising them as needed. This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of School.
