Libertas College Prep is a 4-8 charter middle school in South Los Angeles founded on the belief that all students can thrive and be successful on the path to and through College. Libertas College Prep has an intensive focus on literacy and utilizes a nontraditional starting point of 4th grade to ensure that all students receive literacy support through the transition from “learning to read” in third grade to “reading to learn” in fourth grade and beyond. Libertas is currently the top-performing middle school in South Los Angeles and was recently awarded as a California Distinguished School in 2020.
