TITLE: Coordinator of Student Services

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Possess New Jersey Certificate Educational Services

2. Possesses a Master’s Degree in the area of Student Services

3. Demonstrates skills in human relations, communications, problem solving and organization.

4. Successfully completes required criminal history review

REPORTS TO:

The Principal

GENERAL FUNCTION:

To support the school’s instructional program by coordinating and supervising guidance activities which are designed to assist students in their personal, social and intellectual development consistent with the goals and values set forth by Saint Vincent Academy.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordination of Guidance Activities

a. Develops and implements a master schedule and schedule for all students.

b. Designs, implements, monitors and evaluates the school’s student services program.

c. Maintains communication with offices and agencies that provide specialized help to students and parents.

d. Coordinates the district guidance program with others in the school and community to promote maximum cognitive and affective benefits for students.

e. Keeps school personnel and the school community informed of event and activities relating to guidance services.

f. Oversees the record system to ensure that relevant, up-to-date information is maintained in accordance with state and federal law and school policies and procedures.

g. Collaboratively monitors, investigates, and follows-up school crisis/security concerns via various forms of communication.

2. College and Career Support Services

a. Oversees the application process (for post-secondary education, armed services, scholarships, etc.) and ensures the timely submission of appropriate documents.

b. Establishes relations with post-secondary institutions.

c. Coordinates and communicates with institutions of higher education regarding dual credit courses, registration, grade submission, etc.

d. Coordinates school-wide career related activities.

3. Testing

a. Serves as school-wide test coordinator.

b. Oversees the school testing program including but not limited to PSAT, SAT, Otis Lennon, etc.)

c. Works in cooperation with other school personnel to coordinate the school’s testing/assessment program.

4. School and Community Relations

a. Promotes on-going, two-way communications with students, school personnel, parents and community stakeholders to enhance the student services program and school.

b. Participates in administrative and curricula meetings.

c. Facilitates articulation experiences for student services and other staff.

d. Participates in relevant administrative meetings conducted by the Principal.

5. Other

a. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.

6. Terms of Employment

a. Ten – month full-time position

7. Evaluation

a. Evaluated annually by the Vice Principal in cooperation with the Principal.
