Harbor Science and Arts Charter School is a K-8 charter school located in East Harlem, NY. Opened in 2000, HSACS is one of the oldest charter schools in New York City.

MISSION
It is the mission of the Harbor Science and Arts Charter School to provide students with a high-quality education through a rigorous academic program that infuses character building, physical wellness and the arts. Students will graduate with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in higher learning institutions and have the capability to make a positive contribution to society.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Harbor Science and Arts Charter School is seeking an educators with experience teaching grades K-8 and a commitment to educating the whole child. Great teachers are those who look at this as a passion, not a job. Our most successful teachers are mission driven, reflective, organized, adaptable, and have a collaborative mind-set.
- Prioritize student engagement and relationship building
- Commitment to working in a community that is underserved and under resourced
- Strong classroom management skills; ability to keep students engaged and set high expectations
- Stellar communication skills
- Classroom teaching experience required; 2 years preferred
- Spanish speaking is a plus due to growing population
- New York State Teaching Certification, required
- Master’s Degree in Education, preferred
- SWD Certification, preferred
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Empower students through a critical thinking, rigorous, and standards-based curriculum
- Use data to inform instruction to develop the whole child and increase academic success
- Implement thoughtful and engaging plans for the students
- Keep accurate and organized records of student information
- Provide one to one and small group instruction to target individual needs
- Collaborate with leadership and colleagues
- Attend and actively participate in professional development, parent/family events, and school spirit festivities
COMPENSATION
Harbor Science and Arts Charter School provides competitive compensation and benefits package; compensation will be based on experience and education.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
