How you’ll be there for students:

Be their advocate, difference maker, and mentor.

Be there to design each student’s learning path based on their unique needs. With our proven curriculum and ongoing support, you can be wholly present and do what you love to do: support and empower students to be the best they can be and provide a safe space for them to learn and grow.

How you’ll do it:

  • Attend training sessions, pass content assessments, and delivers designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to eligible students through utilization of - -- Company-designed materials and educational strategies.
  • Develops and maintains individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Ensures supervision of students, including escorting them safely to and from classrooms or mobile/trailer classrooms.
  • Establishes and maintains student forms and files as required by Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
  • Attends and documents conferences/meetings/training with Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
  • Teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet student needs by utilizing Catapult Learning instructional models, strategies, and curricula.
  • Provide academic, social, and emotional services for students who require additional support to thrive in school.
  • Conduct student assessments, use data to develop and implement academic instructional plans and classwork, and collaborate with school personnel and families to drive outcomes.
  • Access the school’s behavior support and intervention strategies, including implementation of de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention, to maintain the safety of students and staff.
  • Maintain inventory of educational materials, supplies and computer lab components.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment as you maintain the confidentiality of students and families.
  • Identify and enroll eligible students through existing test scores, administering tests, and/or other acceptable methods as required by Catapult Learning.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What we’ll need from you:

The positive, enthusiastic teacher we seek has these qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Special Education degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching license for Special Education in New York state, Grades 1-6.
  • Experience teaching students with disabilities in grades K-8.
  • Reading Permanent Certification.
  • Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

Compensation: $48-$53 per hour depending on years of teaching experience and highest degree.
