Alpha Public Schools will ensure that all of our scholars develop the academic skills and leadership habits required to succeed in college and live with integrity. Alpha Public Schools was formed in response to a group of parents in East San José who wanted better education options for their scholars. Intent on creating a high-quality public middle school, in 2010 these activist mothers approached our founder. Since then, Alpha Public Schools has expanded and now includes four campuses in East San José serving students TK-12. We are actively searching for entrepreneurial educators to join our passionate staff for the 2021-2022 school year.
We are seeking passionate individuals who embody Alpha’s mission, vision and core beliefs- educators who believe that all students can learn, that our scholars belong in college, and that student growth is a reflection of the teacher’s practice. The ideal candidate is committed to working with students in traditionally underserved communities. You exhibit a strong commitment not only to our students and community but also to your own continuous professional development. You are team-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable. We're committed to finding educators who value and celebrate the diverse experiences of our scholars and their families, and who care deeply about addressing the inequities that exist in education.
Alpha Public Schools offers a strong community of support across the network. We have deep ties to our community resulting in strong relationships and high levels of involvement. When you work with us, you are part of our family. Alpha offers competitive salary and benefits packages including paid health, dental, and vision, paid parental leave, retirement contribution matching, and a generous PTO policy (rated 4.1 for benefits on Glassdoor). Additionally, Alpha offers weekly professional development, consistent observation and coaching, and opportunities for internal promotion and leadership. This year, Alpha Public Schools implemented a network-wide supplemental benefits package in response to community needs due to the consequences of the pandemic. With the expansion of breaks and long weekends, all staff received additional paid days off and were given two mental health days to use at their leisure. An EAP program was also implemented to ensure all staff had access to mental health services if desired. All of these added COVID benefits will again be offered this year.
