Bert Corona Charter High School is a small, personalized learning high school that implements the tenets of mastery learning, standards-based grading, project-based learning, PBIS, and restorative justice to prepare its students for college-readiness. Teachers at Bert Corona Charter High School have high levels of autonomy over their teaching practice within the expectations of the instructional program, which include the writing and use of performance rubrics to evaluate student progress towards mastery of UC A-G readiness indicators, differentiated instructional and assessment practices, and the implementation of standards-based grading. Collaboration is of the highest importance to our faculty, as we know we can go much further together than we can alone, and our students' success is what's at stake.
