Bishop Gorman High School was founded in 1954 by the Clerics of St. Viator and moved to a new campus in 2007. With an enrollment of about 1500 students, Bishop Gorman is the oldest Catholic High School in Southern Nevada. ACADEMICS As a college preparatory school, Bishop Gorman has a 98% college-bound rate. The Class of 2023 boasts 46 Scholars and 134 Honors graduates. Thirteen (13) National Merit Scholarship Commended Students, ten 10 Finalists, and one (1) National Merit Scholarship Recipient. This senior class received $27 million in scholarship offers. Bishop Gorman operates on a modified block schedule with eight periods. Our college preparatory curriculum offers three tracks to meet your academic needs, College Prep, Honors, and Scholars. ATHLETICS Bishop Gorman is the home of the Gaels and has a rich tradition of athletic excellence with over 100 State Championships in our 65+ year history. The Class of 2023 also had 47 seniors receiving athletic scholarships to play at the college level. ACTIVITIES Bishop Gorman offers a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities with over 40% of students participating in a school organization there is something for everyone. FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS A variety of fine art classes are offered through our curriculum including ceramics, drawing, digital photography, guitar, orchestra, theatre, dance, and much more. The Bishop Gorman thespians have been Theatre State Champions for over 7 years in a row and have won three national titles. The Class of 2023 won 14 Regional Gold Keys in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and 5 NV Thespian State Champions in Performance.
