Capitol Learning Academy is a small, multi-age, progressive model of elementary education. We are a startup school and have 6 students, ages 6-9 years old. We teach students future-ready skills such as adaptability, time management, group work, perspective giving/taking, and goal setting. Our tuition is indexed against household income for each family, ranging from $2,000- $20,000 per year. We utilize our community resources daily. We are located right in the heart of Barracks Row on Capitol Hill and walk to a public park for recess every day. We also use the public library, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop and local fitness facilities. We love our neighbors!

That elementary students are untapped resources and are capable of many skills that we have traditionally waited until high school or later to instill. Teachers should not be the holders of all knowledge, and it is ok to learn something alongside the students. School is fun! You aren't afraid to work hard, you believe in creating a new model to eventually affect a larger change in education, and you love tapping into the wonders of students' thought processes.
