Chicanos Por La Causa, or CPLC, is a non-profit organization based in Arizona founded in 1969. It is a statewide community development corporation. It has staff of nearly 1600 and impacts more than 2,000,000 people every year throughout Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and California. CPLC Community Schools offer high school students in low-income communities a culturally-relevant learning environment that caters to each student’s individual needs. Our vision is to grow the future leaders of our community by increasing educational achievement, graduation rates, civic participation, and college entrance and graduation. We are a non-profit charter holder for two charter high schools in the Tucson Area. Additionally, the Girls’ Leadership Academy of Arizona (GLAAZ), formerly an Arizona charter school for girls under Florence Crittenton, continues under the supervision of the existing Florence Crittenton school board and is now supported by and consolidated under CPLC Community Schools. CPLC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs are committed to giving every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, an opportunity to succeed in school and life. EARLY HEAD START Provides full-day, full-year early childhood development services to low income children, ages 0-3 years, and their families in educationally-stimulating learning environments. MIGRANT & SEASONAL HEAD START Provides full-day, full-year program services to children, ages 0-5 years, of migrant and seasonal farm and agriculture working families where hand-picked and row crops are prevalent.
