HCCS is an elementary school (k -6) and a high school (7 -12) serving gifted and talented students. We are publicly funded, chartered by CUNY, and administered by Hunter College. Our ES is an intimate, child-centered program for intellectually gifted children in Manhattan; our larger HS draws from the top 10% of NYC students in all five boroughs based on 5th grade ERB scores. We are curious, intellectually driven, high performing and dynamic. Our alumni include the Queen of Carbon, a Supreme Court Justice, a physics Nobel Prize winner, a double EGOT winner and MacArthur "Genius" Fellows.
