At JB43 we share the vision: Building Knowledge, Nurturing Connection, Advocating for Change. The exciting initiatives, systems and structures and ways we allocate our resources align to this new vision. As the new principal of the school, we are working to create a new identity and place in District 7. We are a medium sized school who is growing. We currently serve 350 students from grades 3K to 5th grade and are the home to the new Gifted and Talented program in District 7. We are a close-knit community of educators that believe in providing our students and families with authentic experiences to build their knowledge. We strive to take our students on as many field trips as possible, and we provide the financial backing to do so. We prioritize collaboration and have created a schedule to promote teacher planning. We also know the power of connection between students and staff. We have an advisory period on Monday mornings for our third through fifth graders. On Friday afternoons our first graders through our fifth graders all transition to various clubs throughout our school. We have cooking clubs, a knitting club, coding, drumming, art, sports, stepping and more! Our amazing staff lends their expertise along with their patience to help students find new passions. Our staff members also engage in committees to support the many initiatives we have at JB43. Twice monthly we break into committees to focus on Health and Wellness, PBIS, Sunshine, Student and Staff Events, Social Media, and JB43 Beautification. We share the same philosophy that we all have special passions and gifts that can enhance not only our instruction, but our entire school community.
