Los Encinos School was founded in 1980 by visionary educator Chris Holabird. While the school continues to meet the ever-changing needs of children and families, the Los Encinos mission and philosophy have remained the same since its inception. Los Encinos School continues to be, “a small school with a large commitment to every child,” providing richly integrated educational experiences for children in grades kindergarten through six.
The primary classes are staffed with two teachers, while the upper grade classes are staffed with a lead teacher and a full-time associate or assistant. All classroom teachers are credentialed and many hold advanced degrees. We are united by a life-long dedication to learning and a true love and respect for children. We share the belief in the value of solid academic preparation, sound moral and ethical principles, and each child’s ability to succeed. Together, we emphasize a great variety of strategies and best practices connected to making a positive difference in the lives of children.
