The Maggio Multicultural Academy, established in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, was founded by Kristi Maggio to address the need for high-quality education in the region. After 3 years of extensive market research, the academy opened in 2016 with seven students. It quickly grew and expanded to accommodate 85 students by early 2019. Offering in-person and online learning, the academy also served independent study high school students with accreditation from Bridgeway Academy, allowing them to earn a US diploma. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the academy transitioned to virtual learning, resulting in a decline in enrollment. However, this shift prompted the academy to explore online learning opportunities and expand globally. In September 2022, the academy established independent study "pods" in the Dominican Republic and Uganda, providing localized facilitators and expanding access to quality education. Realizing the potential to assist students worldwide, the academy decided to acquire its own accreditation to reduce costs and support more students who face barriers to education. This can be an experience of a lifetime. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic teachers to join our team in the Dominican Republic. While we are an accredited online school in the state of Virginia, we have "Pods/Satellite Schools" in the Dominican Republic and Uganda. Elementary Teachers will teach a range of subjects to students in grades K-5. Secondary teachers will teach the subject of their specialization. All Teachers will work closely with other teachers and staff to support student achievement.
