Moving Everest Charter SchoolChicago, IL
OVERVIEW
About

Moving Everest is a K-7 (fall 2021 and growing to K-8) charter school, helping students prepare for success in college and in life through: the delivery of a rigorous and personalized academic program, a focus on holistic education and the development of strong character. We are driven by a sense of urgency and an “every minute matters mindset” and that influences everything we do; from our strong instructional focus in a personalized / blended learning environment to the emphasis we place on meeting the social, emotional, and physical needs of our scholars. We have a relentlessly positive staff and student culture that is filled with hope and high expectations and we work hard to make certain that our scholars reach those expectations. Additionally, our school families benefit greatly from our valuable partnership with a highly effective after-school provider that adds a multitude of opportunities for our students to grow and succeed.

Ideal Candidate

We are interested in adding relentlessly positive, high capacity people, who have high expectations for themselves and their students and who will settle for nothing less than making a life changing, life altering impact. You need to have previous teaching experience or at least been an education major in college and had a student teaching experience. Please do not apply without either of those qualifications. We are looking for individuals who have a strong set of experiences and are committed, passionate, dedicated, and relentless about changing lives. Our elementary teachers in grades K,1,2,3 plan and deliver instruction for self-contained classrooms and grades 4,5,6,7 take a more specialized (ELA/Math/Social Studies/STEM) approach. The teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction in a blended learning environment and for monitoring scholar progress to determine instructional needs. The teacher reviews scholar progress and adapts instruction to ensure high-progress learning for every child. The teacher is responsible for establishing a strong classroom culture in collaboration with other members of the grade level team. We have a strong teacher coaching model in place and highly effective weekly professional development.
