Mundo Verde is a Tier 1 bilingual public charter school in Washington DC, we serve one of the most diverse groups of PreK-Fifth grade students in the district. Our three pillars are sustainability, biliteracy and expeditionary learning, we support community building and social justice. Our Habits of Community Stewardship, called ESPICA are: Empathy, Speak your truth, Perseverance, Inquiry, Collaboration, Appreciation. When the weather is warm enough, our Cook campus students run a weekly market and sell items from our garden and we have chickens. We have an in-house chef who makes all of our yummy meals! TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS: - BA required for K-5th positions, preferably in education, BA strongly preferred for PK positions - At least one year of experience as a teacher of record or as a Mundo Verde fellow required, urban teaching experience preferred - A DC teaching license/certification (or in the process of obtaining reciprocity) strongly preferred - Bilingual preferred for all English classroom positions, but not required. For leads in Spanish classrooms, advanced or native proficiency in Spanish required.
