Rocky Mount Prep was founded in 1997 by local business leaders to provide a rigorous, “world class” education to prepare scholars from all backgrounds for success in college, career, and life. From its inception, the school’s founders have had a conviction that all children can learn and that every student should be challenged to reach his or her fullest potential. Its original charter application promised the school would “offer parents and students a fundamentally different choice from traditional public schools. Today, Rocky Mount Prep educates over 1,000 scholars from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Parents from more than eight school districts have made the choice for us to educate their scholar. The mission of Rocky Mount Prep is to educate, equip and empower each scholar to excel academically by providing equitable learning opportunities and collaborating with families and communities. The vision of Rocky Mount Prep is that each scholar will graduate with experiences and exposure to equip them to embrace and engage future opportunities. Our team is profoundly committed to ensuring students in Eastern North Carolina have access to their best options for their educational needs. We offer competitive salaries with local districts. Our staff receive both sick and personal leave time to use throughout the year. Staff do not have to pay for their own substitutes when using leave time. Health insurance, including a no-cost to employee option, vision, dental, life insurance. RMP pays for both short-term and long-term disability policies. Employees are eligible for a 3% 401K match. RMP provides tuition reimbursement and support for teachers seeking initial licensure.
