OVERVIEW
About

For over forty years, Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) has provided education programming for students who require additional educational and positive behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting. We believe that all children deserve an education that goes beyond academics and enables them to grow into responsible, self-sufficient adults. SESI partners with school districts to run in-district classrooms and stand-alone schools that meet the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of special and alternative education students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning, Emotional and other disabilities. We guide students toward success in and out of the classroom by implementing our signature, research-based education model that incorporates supportive therapies, life skills training, and workforce development programs, as well as professional learning for special education teachers. We proudly serve over 3,000 students throughout our 50 day schools and 80 in-district classrooms. We partner with over 500 school districts nationwide and are accredited by AdvancED. We believe students reach their highest potential in safe and structured environments that afford them a strong sense of security, a positive attitude toward learning, and incentives for appropriate behavior. Regardless of the underlying disability, students come to us with some level of emotional and/or behavioral issues, from mild to moderate to severe. By focusing on key areas — academics, behavior modifications, support services, and transition/life planning services — we are able to meet the individual needs of all students through these varied approaches to instruction. Through collaboration with a student’s IEP team, we are able to choose the most appropriate learning model based on a given student’s present levels of performance, social capabilities, motor coordination, and ability to learn in a group setting.
