Located six miles from Washington, D.C., we are a college-preparatory Episcopal school in the Diocese of Virginia for students aged 3 through grade 12. We educate the whole child by tending to the academic, social, physical, and spiritual needs of each of our students. We have three distinct campuses, each uniquely tailored to meet the needs of the age groups within. Our Mission: To help our students succeed in a complex and changing world, we seek to inspire a passion for learning, an enthusiasm for athletic and artistic endeavors, a striving for excellence, a celebration of diversity, and a commitment to service. Our mission is to pursue goodness as well as knowledge and to honor the unique value of each of our members as a child of God in a caring community. SSSAS has a deep commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive community. We seek candidates who share this commitment. Our community is collaborative with faculty and administration working together to create a positive environment for all. This is a place where dreaming big is just the beginning, and 'doing what you love' is a real thing. Our culture promotes lifelong learning, and our faculty have a wealth of opportunities available to them to continue expanding their knowledge of both their disciplines and the field of education in general.
We seek candidates who embrace the Mission of the school, valuing goodness as well as knowledge and fostering a sense of belonging along students and adults alike. These are challenging times, and we seek people who are positive, flexible and have a growth mindset.
In addition to our wonderful culture, we offer competitive pay and generous benefits. Our excellent benefits include health, dental, a flexible spending account (FSA), a non-contributory retirement plan at 7%, sick leave & personal days, life insurance, disability, a qualified tuition remission plan, a home loan program that contributes up to to $10K in closing costs for eligible 1st-time home buyers who relocate to the area, free lunches, and more. Recently we have retained a coach to help our faculty learn mindfulness and meditation skills. If this sounds like the right teaching opportunity for you, consider applying today!
