For more than 40 years, Clinton’s educational philosophy of building flexible thinkers through inquiry-based learning has enriched the lives of NYC adolescents in grades 6 - 12. In 2016, we were authorized as an IB World School, offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), a curriculum for the 11th and 12th grades. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering high-quality programs of international education. In 2023, our community is applying for authorization to offer the Middle Years Programme to students in grades 6-10. We are excited to be the only NYC DOE public school to offer an IB for All program to middle and high school students. The Clinton School’s mission is to prepare students for college through a seven year liberal arts curriculum. We provide educational opportunities by offering the International Baccalaureate program to all students. We develop lifelong learners, understand that social and emotional support is as essential as academics, and strive for them to be good citizens of the international community. At Clinton, we promote a caring, supportive environment for learning—where students, staff, and teachers treat one another with courtesy and respect.
We'd like to create a community where educators and staff have a diversity of life experiences that make them qualified to work with young people. Educators and staff at The Clinton School believe: -All people can learn and are learning, regardless of age. -All people want to feel successful, regardless of age. -We may not agree on the path, but we're all driven by students' best interests. -A sense of humor is a wonderful thing. If you believe those things, too, you're on the right track to being qualified. Additionally, candidates must be certified to teach in NYS. (That's an HR non-negotiable.)
