The Wooden Button is a small preschool inspired by the Waldorf education model, with a well-established reputation beyond its Washington Heights home. Our program is play-based and focused on the children’s physical, social, and emotional development as well as their connection to their community and to nature. We encourage self-directed play both inside the classroom and out of doors year-round. The Waldorf philosophy just turned 100.
