Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has unwaveringly high expectations for all students with the belief that every child should have access to a college education. Candidates believe that we grow and adapt as individuals within our community, and know that the strongest teams are composed of different perspectives, cultures, and experiences. The ideal candidate finds and creates joy in their work; they approach their work with optimism, positivity, and acceptance, and understand that the work is hard, but worth it. Candidates believe great teaching leads to great outcomes, and recognize that great teaching is not easily or quickly mastered, and thus continual feedback, practice, and reflection is critical to their growth as a professional. The ideal candidate also understands that our mission is only accomplished by actively dismantling racism and discrimination at every level and knows that the best education integrates school, families, and the community.
