- If you teach lower grades or Special Education, only very light content, if any, should be taught before the third week. Plan to spend most of your time building community, establishing rules and practicing routines
- If you teach upper grades, you will likely have to teach content almost immediately. Plan to teach complex and/or important routines, along with rules, during the first and second weeks, and incorporate community and relationship-building into your curriculum
